Bellus Academy
A pretty, custom, complex website for a beauty school. Other than the obvious design, there were a lot of things I did in the admin and coding to make their forms submit appropriately to their 3rd-party CRM. Basically, they wanted to know very specifically where leads were coming from – PPC, Facebook ads, organic, etc – as well as the campaign associated with the lead. I did it with a combination of jQuery and PHP.
I think the site itself is beautiful, though if I’m honest, I’ve always hated background videos. My main complaint is that they can be noisy visually (and aurally), and don’t always lend value to the site, while also draining resources. In this case, I believe the client chose a good video that accentuates their service well, without being obtrusive.
This redesign happened about a year after I had spent probably 50+ hours moving their existing site into WordPress for SEO reasons. It turned out to have an absurd number of pages and needed a lot of clean-up work to make the whole thing come together. And then we just scrapped it anyway. Whee!

A pretty, custom, complex website for a beauty school. This was a deceptively large project for a client who knew exactly what they wanted.
